Rosacea treatment (broken capillaries)

Rosacea - before and after

  Read more about...

Rosacea is a chronic, inflammatory condition usually limited to the central face. Rosacea symptoms can vary a great deal, but commonly involve a considerable amount of flushing to the lesions with tiny blood vessels called telangiectasia. Often small pustules (pimples) are present as well, hence, the name "acne rosacea." The rosacea symptoms occur almost exclusively in adult life and most often begin between the ages of 30 and 50 years. The course of rosacea has a tendency to be rather chronic with flares and remissions that are generally unpredictable.

Topical antibiotic lotions are often used in rosacea treatment, in conjuction with systemic antibiotics. Unfortunately, these therapies are not effective in all patients, especially those with moderate to severe rosacea symptoms. In those cases, we recommend either Intense Pulse Light (IPL) treatments, or a Rosacea Peel.

If you have red, blotchy skin, we can help. In Vancouver, call (604) 980-3993 or email us at info@afterglowskincare.ca today!
