Community SupportThe staff of Afterglow Medi-Spa believe strongly in corporate social responsibility. Our special role as health professionals enables us to give back to the communities in which we live, as well as to the world at large.
In 2002, Dr. Ebrahim travelled to Tibet to provide free medical services to the nomads of the eastern regions. In 2006, she climbed Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for BC Children’s Hospital.
In 2010 Dr. Ebrahim climbed to Mount Everest Base Camp with a mission to promote and support community-based education, especially for girls, in remote, underserviced and war stricken areas of Northern Pakistan. She believes that the best hope for a peaceful and prosperous world lies in the education of all the world’s children.
In collaboration with the Central Asia Institute, a non-profit organization, Dr. Ebrahim has been donating 2% of the profits from Afterglow, since January, 2009.
In 2012 Afterglow entered into a partnership with Opportunity International, providing small business loans and more in the developing world.
Beginning in 2016, Dr. Ebrahim began working with the Salama Gachie Community School in Nairobi, Kenya. This organization endeavors to lift children out of poverty by providing free education and meals. Thanks to the contributions of benefactors like Dr. Ebrahim, approximately 140 boys and girls can learn the skills they need to achieve a better, more prosperous life.
For 2017, Dr. Ebrahim has partnered with Dress for Success, an organization that helps women get back on their feet by providing clothing, accessories, and other services. Dr. Ebrahim is contributing complimentary aesthetic treatments, including cosmetic injectables and laser and light therapies to help boost the self-esteem of women in this program.
